Hsue-shen Tsien Paper Award and Norbert Wiener Review Award were set up in 2017 to memorize Dr. Hsue-shen Tsien and Dr. Norbert Wiener’s significant contributions and to encourage scholars to contribute to the research and development of automation. Dr. Tsien, the first President of the Council for Chinese Association of Automation, academician of both Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, was a world-renown Chinese scientist who worked on aerodynamics, rocket science, control theory and applications. Dr. Wiener, an American mathematician, an early researcher in stochastic and mathematical noise processes, was considered the father of cybernetics.
Hsue-shen Tsien Paper Award and Norbert Wiener Review Award will be given to one paper each year. The candidate papers should be published in IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica (JAS) 1-3 year(s) before the year to award. The papers are selected based on the relative statistics on SCIE of Web of Science and reviewed by the award committee that consists of EiC, DEiC, and 1-3 Associate Editors. The winners for each paper will be presented a certificate and an award of RMB 20K.
